MOSQUES

Building of the mosque in Tabora region

On 27th June 1942 the building of Fazl Mosque started in Tabora. Serious commotion took place, but all that was abated and the Mosque was opened at a colorful ceremony in 1946. Another Mosque was built in 1956 in Dar es salaam and was opened 15th March 1957.

Since the opening of the first Ahmadiyya Mosque in Tanzania Masjid Fazl in Tabora in 1944 the Jamaat in Tanzania has not looked back. In 1957 another splendid Mosque opened in Dar es salaam and was given the name Masjid Salaam. In many regional headquarters in the country we had Mosques. The Dodoma Mosque was opened by Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih – IV Mirza Tahir Ahmad during his tour in 1988. In Mtwara a very beautiful Mosque has been built and was opened by Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih – V (atba) Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. Last year 2012 the Amir and Missionary Incharge opened another beautiful Mosque in Lindi region which is given a name Masjid Muhammad. In many place in the country where there is no Mosque arrangement are made to meet in a house of an Ahmadi and prayers are offered there. All the Mosques in regional centres have also Mission houses and Libraries where people can meet. One unique feature of our Mosque they have been a source of Tabligh during the opening ceremonies. We have stated categorically that the Mosque is the house of Allah and any one is allowed to worship in the Mosque. The Mosques we have in the country and to mention the few are as follows:-
